Heavenly Resources

Yesterday's Blizzard canceled out church services everywhere. On our website note, I asked, "Will worship ever be cancelled in Heaven?" For those waiting breathlessly for the answer, it's "No!"

Here are some resources you should know about as you study issues of Heaven and the End Times. The link on this blog to Eternal Perspective Ministries is a very rich one. It is by Randy Alcorn who has written dozens of books and recently finished a 10 year project that resulted in the book, Heaven. Excerpts from the book are in the Heaven/articles section along with many other writings indexed there.

One of our Elders, Don Zeyl, Prof. of Phil. at URI, recommended a great book on Revelation that will shed much needed light on interpreting the Apocalypse. It's called Revelation and the End of All Things, by Craig Koester.
An article that forms the last chapter of The Drama Of Scripture, by Michael Goheen is an excellent summary of God's eternal plan. It's called (Re)New(ed) Creation: The End of the Story.

Another book I'm reading that is wonderful, speaks to the theme of our series, Living in Light of Eternity. It is Bringing Heaven Down To Earth: Connecting This Life To The Next, by Nathan Bierma.

As always, current and past sermon series can be downloaded from the Christ Church Website/ Resources/Sermon Archives.

INHY - About this Blog

Over the years, I've taught many times on the theme forming the basis of this blog. The phrase, "It's Not Heaven Yet" has become part of our church's DNA. It captures some essential theology necessary to navigate as a follower of Christ on our journey.

You can listen to the sermon on the Link here that goes to the Christ Church archives. You can download the audio, or a print version. This Blog will be an opportunity to expand thinking and dialog on this expansive and vital area!
